Handmade Goodies

I'm not great at coming up with original ideas for making gifts, but I have found some great crafty blogs lately that I wanted to share!

First, you've got to check out the personalized advent calendars you can make at Memory Box Calendars.  When I was little, my mom would make up one activity per day in December that we would get to do as a family.  She didn't have a cool calendar like this, but used small boxes that hung on a little decorative Christmas tree instead.  She'd fill each box with a verse about the Christmas story, a few pieces of candy, and an activity for the evening (watch a movie together, make Christmas cookies, decorate the tree, etc.).  With these new calendars, you can do the same minus the candy...okay, so sometimes that was the best part, but you'll have to stash that somewhere else!

Fun crafty blogs to check out:
Bizzy Bee Creations
Chasing Cheerios
Little Birdie Secrets

And...The Parent Bloggers Network.  Not really a crafty blog because they mostly do reviews of products for moms and kids, but every week they do a blogging contest.  This week's contest is about handmade gifts.  (Because I was one of the first 10 to post, I won a Klutz activity book!  I've also won coupons for 2 free bags of Ore-Ida Steam and Mash potatoes.  It's not the lottery, but it's always fun to win something!  Try it!)

Have fun!
